Blake's new job.... June 2008

Blake got a promotion at work supervising all of the landscaping around the city buildings. He even gets to ride this groovy cart around to check on employee's and give out job assignments. When he is really lucky he gets to drive a city truck around. He said something about a "HEMI"..whatever that means! HA We love seeing him around town and honking and waving at our boy. Keep your eye open for Blake! (On this day I was "staking" him as he says to get this picture)

TREK... June 12 - 14, 2008

Camille went to the Colleyville Stake Trek. There we about 28 kids and 7 adults from our ward that went. What an amazing time they all had. It was hard and most of all HOT. Several of the kids and adults got sick because of the heat. Thankfully everyone came home safe and sound. Camille said it was a good experience but that she wasn't going again in 4 years! :) I asked her why and she said she already experienced that! Ha

Engagement!!!

Well it is really official now. Kids these days seem to make all of the plans for a wedding "before" they actually get engaged. Crazy right?? I wonder why Craig would even ask a question that he already knows the answer to.....:) He re-created the beach they visited on one of their first dates in his back yard. I think he had lots of help form his family. They have all been great and supportive.

Soccer Boy

Grant had his last soccer game today. He seems to have a talent for soccer like his brothers. He was lucky enough to have our Friend Dave Smith as his coach. For whatever reason Grant would call him "Mr. Smith" We have never referred to Dave this way so it was a bit funny to hear it come out of his mouth! He scored 2 goals so it was a good game. When he dose not score a goal he comes home grumpy...boy that starts early! GO GRANT

Isn't she TOOOO young?? Carly's getting married!

Mom... "Carly would you ever think of getting married in August?"
Carly... " Oh no way August is way toooo soon. "
Mom... "Are you thinking December? You know I don't support December weddings...that time of year is so crazy for everyone! HA HA :)
Carly..." I know but you would come right?HA HA Next April seems too far away."
TWO WEEKS LATER:
Carly..."Mom, how would you feel about us getting married in August?"

Carly announces her plans to marry the love of her life. She will be getting married to Craig Martin from Utah on August 26th 2008 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Craig came to meet us in April and we love him. He will be a great addition to our family. I told Grant that he was going to get a new brother and he said.."Where is Blake and Tyler going?" I said," You just have 3 brothers now" ...I think he was OK with that! :)

The next posting will be in September as I am now going CRAZY with wedding plans!!! HELP! HA HA

Grant's 4th Birthday

Grant turned a big 4 on Sunday June 1st. Can you believe it has already been 4 YEARS? He has been such a blessing in all of our lives. He keeps us young and makes us old all at the same time!!









Is that bike RED????????????

A few weeks ago Steve took Grant to the "real" bike shop to get a part for his bike. Grant saw a green expensive bike and talked about it from them on. So of course for his birthday he wanted a "green" bike. In our family when a kids out grows a bike so fast you don't spend $300 on it so we headed to Wal-Mart to get a new birthday bike. We did look for green but green was not a choice so Red it was..... $50 later we were home. After the candles and song Tyler brought out the new bike. You should have seen the shocked look on Grant's face as he hesitated for a second and said..."WHAT...that bike is not GREEN!" Of course the color seemed less important as soon as he sat on the bike! Blake said that this like the spoiled 16 year old girl who is upset because her new birthday BMW was blue instead of red....I fear he is bit right but how do you not spoil a little guy in the mist of all of these big kids?? :) It could be worse I guess as we could have really gotten him the green bike!
P.S.: Grant took about 30 pictures of his new bike. This is one of them.




LATER THAT DAY:
Grant's job around the house is to put the silverware away from the dishwasher. The job that he use to love to do has turned into a "real" job now and he always hangs his head when asked to help put the dishes away. So when the order was given to come help he said..." How do you expect me to even reach this....I not even 5 yet". Didn't he just turn 4? :)

Family Canton Trip May 30, 2008

We had so much fun when we took a short trip to Canton, Texas with some great friends. (The Rousseau's , Ellsworth's and Blake's friend Mike Yeck) We stayed at a FUN Bed and Breakfast if you can call it that as it was so much more!! This is my kind of camping...right Lori?! Check out Kaylee's fish..She had the biggest catch of the night!

The Owner of the BBB (Les Anderson) took to Camille and even taught her how to drive his John Deer tractor. She drove it all over the place and even came home with his hat. She is her daddy's girl as tractors are his first love.

Ward Memorial Party 5/26/2008

We had a great Ward Party at the Bear Creek Clubhouse. What a fun way to spend the day with great friends and family. We even had to make a couple of runs for more food as people just kept coming! We had well over 150 people in attendance.

These are our "Mighty Cooks "! Jeff and Nate did a great job grilling for the whole Ward. It was HOT... HOT... HOT and so are they as you can see from this picture! Can we say Buff??








LOST AND FOUND:
After the great Ward Party we came home and all went our separate ways..The boys ( Tyler and Blake went to mow yards, Steve and I and Grant all crashed on the sofas while watching a movie and Kaylee and Camille took the dog Tex for a walk) After the boys got home from mowing and had showered and eaten Tyler became concerned that the girls were not home yet. Steve and I were still groggy and not quite awake when Tyler decided to send out a search and rescue party to look for them. He and Blake hit the streets on their bikes and Steve and I and Grant went out in the squad car. After they were gone for what seemed to be about 2 hours and our searching was approaching 45 minutes we all started to be become concerned! Trying NOT to alarm people we started to call ward members that were in the area to see if maybe they had seen the girls. Of course they (Christine) were ready to start their search as well. Fearing the we were loosing daylight (it was almost 7 PM) I was seconds for calling the police for help when the girls called to see where everyone was.....They had been home safe and sound and COOL the whole time upstairs watching a movie!! It was a fun little practice rescue mission for the whole family.
