The holiday that lasts FOREVER!

I am all for having fun but I was starting to wonder if this holiday would ever come to an end! :) Between the Ward party, the parties at school and the "Real" deal (Halloween) we are dressing up every other day....Grant was a Army man for days. I must say he was the cutest Army man ever!

My Mother! :)

My Mom's name is Loraine but as many of you already know We affectionately call her "Rainer" She is 84 and funny! When she in-lightens me on a subject I call it a "Rainerism". She still goes to work M -Sat. at her beauty shop called......drum roll..."Lorain's Unique Boutique" Which she named all by herself. Anyway she listens to Rush Limbaugh and CNN all day long and is terrified (as she should be) that Arack Abama (as she pronounces his name) will be our next President and that the world is going to hell in a hand basket. (which again she is probably right about) She wants to talk about politics all of the time...I don't remember her being such a political zealot when we were growing up but maybe it is because of Rush! Anyway tonight she told me that "Arack wants to take land away from the rich and give it to the poor. I said Mom you are listening to the wrong station because that is Robin Hood. She continued to tell me about a friend of ours growing up that was just arrested for selling meth., which is a sad, sad story... but at the end she said."I just have a feeling that he is involved in drugs???Hello?? Mom, I said that is what Meth. is! At the end of the conversation instead of worrying about my Mother I started to worry about myself!! Am I going to turn into my Mother or am I already like her???? Someone?????

The Pumpkin Patch

We headed to the Pumpkin Patch tonight for FHE. We wanted to see where pumpkins REALLY come from. Grant enjoyed running and playing on all of the cool stuff they had there. We searched and search for the perfect one to take home. Grant was not real keen on cleaning it out. He said it is "gross". Blake came to the rescue! All in all it was a successful night for all of us.

Church Fall Festival 10/2008

We had our church Fall Festival tonight at a GREAT old barn. We had trick or treat, fun games, a chili and pie cook off and a LIVE band! It was a fun a festive time!

Andy and Chris Hickson put a great hayride together for the kids. It was the hit of the night!!

The Band "7 Car Pile Up " came and played for us. They were SUPER and it was so much fun to have live music. It added so much to the atmosphere. Stacy Boyer was a super STAR!

Grant decided to be a Army man for Halloween this year. We had our Ward Fall Festival tonight so we were able to have a trial run. I am sure you will have trouble spotting him in the tree as he is in his camo gear. :)

BYU vs TCU Oct. 16, 2008

The anticipation for this game was at it's highest. Our undefeated BYU was going to plow over the cocky TCU....or so we had hoped. Blake and his buddies Jackson and Dylan decided to unveil their "manly" chests to show their support! It was quit a sight...Jackson has more hair on his chest than 5 men put together. Blake on the other hand was just a stick figure. Dylan was in his element. I told Carly that Blake planned on painting a Y on his chest for the game. She said, "Mom, I am not sure a Y will fit on Blake's chest!" HA HA They had a lot of fun but BYU got killed! It was a painful loss! I can't even recall the score.
I on the other hand I had an offer to go see Niel Diamond in concert that evening so I jumped at the chance. He looked fabulous and it was such a blast. I think I made the right decision!!

The Sky Is Falling!!

Picture this............ I decided to stay up a little late to watch some TV after everyone had gone to bed. As I was sitting there I saw a long piece of lint (or so I thought) drop out of one of the cam lights above my head. Of course my thought was... boy I have got to dust those lights. I went to pick up the lint and saw that it was really skin. Something that you might see a snake loose!!!! Yes, I did freak out. I considered screaming and even putting the house up for sell because I knew that at any second a huge snake was going to fall right out of the light as well. There was a smaller piece of skin still hanging from the light. I stood there for several minutes and weighed out my options. Should I get a broom and sweep the last little bit down or is the snake still there? How on earth did a snake get in the attic? I thought... should I wake Steve or Blake up?? Just as I decided to get the broom the rest of the skin scurried back up the light....OK the skin is STILL attached to whatever is up there... After I finally decided I better just go to bed, I did worry all night about stepping on it in the morning. When we got up the next morning I showed everyone my finding from the night before. No one was very impressed or even thought it should be checked out! Hello!!!! Steve said it is just a lizard. OK. A lizard is better than a snake but still ............... Of course that afternoon Missy (our dog) went crazy chasing something. Yes, it was a lizard and with the help of Steve and Camille we got it out of the house... I am praying that it did not have babies in the attic. All I know is that I never sit under that light anymore!!

Boys Day Out. 10-11-2008

Steve took Blake and Grant to the Air Show on Saturday. They said it was a lot of fun too see all of the cool airplanes but that is was really crowded and the lines were really long. Of course the highlight was the BLUE ANGLES.

Where did these crazy kids come from? Camille and Grant had such a blast trying on all different kinds of nasty teeth and taking pictures. Grant thought this was so much fun he tried to get everyone to participate! Not real sanitary but FUN!

Camille's New Room 10/2008

Camille has been working hard to get her room put together. She got new bedroom furniture and had fun picking out a new bed ensemble and FUN PILLOWS!! She was such a great sister for letting Tyler and Kaylee have her room for the whole summer! ;) It is still a work in progress but she has BIG plans!! This is her great idea to use this window frame as picture frames for her ever changing pictures of family and Friends. It really helps personalize her space.
