Chicken Little Returns....8/2008

If you remember the picture below was of Grant at his school Halloween party and he was NONE too happy about having to be dressed up as a chicken. Tyler told me that BOYS should not have be chickens. I guess it is not a "manly" costume....but boy was it cute! Last week he had a Indiana Jones birthday party that he was suppose to dress up for and he came out in this chicken costume. Didn't you see the chicken scene in that movie??? He even laid down and watched TV for a bit before he decided that maybe it wasn't the best outfit for the party.

High School Already? August 25,2008

Camille started her first day of High School today. Can this be happening to me?? HA She was darling with the new hair cut and outfit...she also had a good case of nerves. Blake on the other hand rolled out of bed just in time to make his first class at 9:30 and of course wore the oldest thing he had in his closet. Now why did we buy new cloths again? Of course he is too cool for pictures on the first day as well................... This will all change when early morning seminary starts on Wednesday. Well maybe not the "TOO COOL" part!

HOTTER 'N HELL HUNDRED August 23, 2008

THEY DID IT!! Could you be any prouder?? Steve took Tyler, Kaylee, Blake and Camille to Wichita Falls, Texas on Friday August 22. They spent the night there in a nice new hotel and relaxed and got ready for the ride the next day. The race started at 7:05 A.M. Tyler, Kaylee and Blake all did the 100 mile ride and Steve and Camille did the 75 miles. None of them really "trained" for the ride so it is amazing that they made it at all. Blake, Steve and Carly did the race last year and Blake was hoping to finish faster then he did last year. He was at mile marker 80 at 12:30 so he was on track to "blow his time out of the water" SIX flat tires (between them) later......they crossed the finish line at about 3:30. Grant and I (and of course TEX the dog) headed up the next morning to greet them at the finish line and record it all with pictures! Good Job!!

Camille's BIG 14 !! August 12, 2008

Camille had a rip roaring birthday. She had a few close friends come to help celebrate the big day. They headed to the lake with The Hickson's for "battle tubing" . Carly is the only one that came home with "battle" wounds. (see entry below) They had so much fun and did not want to the day to end. We had pizza here at the house and made some of the best homemade ice cream I have ever tasted. Camille got her cell phone finally.............You know she is the ONLY 13 year old that she knows with out one. :) She also got a really cool bedspread and funky pillows. She starts High School this year. What more could a girl ask for? She is growing in to a beautiful girl if you ask me.

Although these pics don't do the injury justice, I almost got my left leg torn right off by a rope while tubing at grapevine lake! That may be a slight exaggeration but still my dad almost fainted when he saw my leg. So funny! Grant even covers his eyes at these pictures!

We took a quick trip to San Antonio for a State All Stars Football game. A boy from our ward (and one of Blake's very good Friends) was chosen to play. He was offered a full ride to BYU and will play after his mission. He is a little guy...weighing in at 296 lbs. and stands 6'8. Look for Micheal Yeck all you BYU fans. Go Cougars................ #77

The Priest age boys also traveled down for the game. Pictures is Axel Boyer, Dylan Briggs, Blake and Jackson Skinner. They hit Slitterbon (water park) before the game.


We on the other hand headed to the River Walk. Kaylee has never been there so we showed her a few of the sights.
