| My mom had a 21 inch waist when she got married. None of us ever fit into her wedding dress... well... LaNae tried when she was 16 and she got the zipper stuck on her skin! None of us even tried it after that. ;) |

Then on Friday we had Carly & Joel and Blake & Caroline over for a cake, wii, and Catch Phrase party! Blake has become quite the cake decorating master and showed up with one of his most impressive masterpieces. Due to Kaylee's knitting obsession Blake made a giant cupcake, complete with knitting needles & yarn! As you can tell from the pictures it really was very impressive - thanks Blake!
After cake we downloaded Tetris Party onto the Wii in honor of Carly's old e-mail address: tetris521! It is usually kind of hard to get Carly involved in the Wii parties, but she was into this one. All I can say is that I hope Carly & Joel can still be friends after Joel claimed the Tetris King title!
For those of you who haven't had the honor of playing Catch Phrase with Blake Williams, all I have to say is that you should make it a life goal! Every time we get together for these parties we try to do a round of Catch Phrase and every time Blake is the most entertaining part of the game. In recognition of the fact that 1) you probably have to know Blake to think this is funny AND 2) you probably had to be there; nevertheless, let me share a classic Blakeism from last night's Catch Phrase party:

Fabric was draped all along the walls. Big beautiful floral arrangements were everywhere.
It was a bonus for us to get to see my Nephew Jason and his family. The kids loved the chocolate fountain.
The Goodman's are loved by many. There was a steady stream of people and they all raved about what wonderful people they were. It was really fun to see where Joel grew up. I think by the end of it...we were ALL glad that the last party was over! The kids had three beautiful events.
The floats were amazing. It is hard to believe that literally EVERYTHING on the floats are natural or flowers. It really is true. I would love to be apart of making a float one year. I was a little sicking to think about how much money must have gone into making all of these floats. It was beautiful though...I am so glad that we went.

On the flight home....I actually feel asleep. I knew I had to hit the ground running into the new chapter of our lives....moving to Canada! CRAZY!!
This was the first time we met Matt and Kay Goodman from Tristan, California. They are wonderful warm people and what an addition to our extended family. They were a joy to work with. We are thrilled to have Joel Pierce Goodman join our family.

The fun tidbit is that our photographer is a girl that I taught when she was in YW in our Desoto ward. She is now grown with a family of her own but it has sure been fun to reconnect with her. She is a darling girl and has turned out well....she must have had a really good teacher as a young woman. :)

It is surreal to me that Carly is old enough to marry. I love/hate my kids getting older. I love them making lives for themselves and seeing them succeed....but I hate them leaving home. I guess they know where to find me.....or at least I KNOW where to find them!
The table was stunning. Yummy homemade soups and a variety of homemade and Harvest Grains bread. The presentation was to die for. The picture does not do it justice!

Carly and our dear friend Paula Bezzant. Paula was Carly's YW President when we first moved to Keller. They hit it off from the beginning!
It was a fabulous turn out and just so much FUN!! Thanks to all those who came to celebrate with us. Carly was so overwhelmed and thankful to all of those who came to support. She said WOW! That was amazing. It love it!!

This was so fun. Christine had Blake ask Joel some questions and then she played it at the shower. They would pause the video and ask Carly the same questions before they played Joel's answers. I must say that they did pretty good. Blake did a great job as MC. FUN!!

Carly was "showered" with SO MANY wonderful gifts to start her new life with Joel. She loved this sign that read.."And they lived happily ever after" And I know they will.
Carly is my "Old Fashioned" girl. She loves retro anything. She got some darling aprons that she was so excited about. It was such a warm and wonderful evening. I came home so grateful for all of the wonderful friends we have. Thank you!
This is a picture of my and my roommates at brick oven for Emilys(girl on my right) birthday. I LOVE brick oven. They have the best pizza crust and root beer. Its definitely a Provo classic.
Carly was headed to the young single adult dance and then to her Friend Cory's house for an after party. Thanks to Camille,Carly had a dress to wear. She definitely sparkled...just look at the picture.HA
Blake........well what can I even say? A picture is worth a thousand words. Blake was all decked out to go to the youth dance at church. He wore his shirt his Dad brought him form Africa and his emergency preparedness whistle that he sported in his mouth for the stroke of midnight!
Camille was also headed to the youth dance and was a bit more "normal" than Blake. Check out her darling new sweater. She and Blake even danced together doing all of the dips and turns that Blake wanted to do. Finally at about 2:30 they were all home and I could finally go to bed without worrying. I was so grateful they were all home safe and sound.
Here ALL of my darling kids are in their traditional new Christmas PJ's. This year all of the boys matched (they loved that) and all of the girls matched..even Mom and Dad.
Camille had a rip roaring birthday. She had a few close friends come to help celebrate the big day. They headed to the lake with The Hickson's for "battle tubing" . Carly is the only one that came home with "battle" wounds. (see entry below) They had so much fun and did not want to the day to end. We had pizza here at the house and made some of the best homemade ice cream I have ever tasted. Camille got her cell phone finally.............You know she is the ONLY 13 year old that she knows with out one. :) She also got a really cool bedspread and funky pillows. She starts High School this year. What more could a girl ask for? She is growing in to a beautiful girl if you ask me.
