Micheal Yeck Our Favorite BYU Football Player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been SO much fun for us to watch Micheal Yeck play football for BYU this year.  I don't think we could be any prouder if he was our own child!  To quote Blake "That's my boy." We have been lucky enough to be able to go to a few games this year but we have also been glued to the TV.  The funny thing is that we spend so much time saying "there he is...did you see him....number 77... that we can hardly watch the game.  If the Yeck's didn't think he would play a game...I would tell them to have him stand by Bronco so we can at least see him on TV.  Ha  These are the picture that Grant would take so we could email them to Blake. 

   

It was a lot of fun to re-hash the games with Barbara. (and Tyler of course the family BYU football fanatic!)  They are pretty proud of their boy and well they should be!!

The Youngs FINALLY visit us in Canada! 9-2011

I am so thankful for good friends!  James and Jill Young are here this week and what a treat it has been. Jill manages Steve's office back home and we thought it would be great to have them here to discuss business.  Of course we had to fit some fun into the weekend.  I got so many great pictures that I couldn't cut very many of them....

After the hike we had breakfast at this great little place.  We stayed the night at the
darling cabins near Johnson Canyon.  Grant wore his roller blades
in the car and forgot his shoes!!   Honestly, how dose that happen??
 We had to make a quick trip to Banff for new shoes and dinner. 
It was a great time and a great way to get a new pair of shoes!

 Steve and Jill have a new business plan and we all had a great time.  It was so much fun having them here and showing them some of the places we love.  It always makes me a little sad to see visitors go.... Who is coming next??

Carly and LaNae come to Canada 9-2011

We were thrilled to get word that Carly and LaNae had actually booked tickets to come to Canada!  We had a great time with them here.  We went to Cirque du Soleil (OVO), Explored Banff and beyond, and of course shopped a little.  It was a great visit and so good to have them here.

Who's Having A Baby??

 Well...I wish I could say that  am making this quilt for one of my grandchildren but I am NOT!!  I am serving with the Young Women in our ward and the President is having her first baby and a GIRL to boot!  We are all so excited for her so we called some expert quilters in to help us make this darling quilt. 

Grant loves it when the house is full of commotion.  They girls are always so good to him.

The girls have decided to host a ward baby shower for her in a few weeks.  It should be fun!



Of course no activity is complete without treats!





Stacy and Raleen visit the Great White North! 10/2010

It was such a fun treat for me to have my darling friends Stacy and Raleen come to visit me in Canada!  It gave me something to look forward to and I could hardly wait until they got here! 

 This is us hiking up Johnson Canyon.  It is a beautiful hike and we took our time playing and taking pictures.  A new photographer was born in Raleen on the hike!  She even used one of her pictures for her Christmas card this year.  Stacy is just hoot taking pictures.  If you have ever been around her you know what I am talking about! All I will say is that she takes SO many it is a bit painful and it better be of HER good side!

 The moss is THICK in Johnson Canyon.  One of my favorite things about it.

 We saw hundreds of Elk in Banff.  I know this picture is out of focus.... There is a story behind that!:) 
 We stayed in Banff for a girls night and this was the moon outside our door.  It looks a little scary but it was beautiful.

We really had a blast!  I am so thankful for dear friends.  I must say that I got a little depressed when they left.  I love these guys!!:)  Until next time!

Do You Paint Cows? 8/2010

Several months before we left Texas we were invited to our dear friends Steve

and MBB's. (as I affectionately call her). MBB had brushed off her painting

tools and Steve began to show interest in painting so they were both creating
some beautiful pieces of art.  MBB had just done some pictures of some oranges
that were very nice.  My Steve said I really like them but Steve asked ...Do you
paint cows? The farm boy was coming out in him. :) Our dear sweet friend MBB
remembered that and when we left for Canada she painted us this beautiful
picture in titled ..."Do You Paint Cows".  She had it packages and sent to us. 
What a fun surprise to have the FedEx guy knock at our door! We both LOVE it!! 
It not only is a fantastic job but what a treat to have her art in our home.  We
were both so touch that she would do this for us.  It hangs proudly in Steve's
office right as you walk into our home. We had a visitor recently ask us where
we got that picture as he also loved it. MBB is now an "internationally placed
artist".  This is not only a gift from the heart...it is a gift we will always treasure.

Exploring Banff and Beyond with Stacy 7/17/2010

After working in the house for several days we decided to take a trip to explore Banff and beyond!  Stacy has spent a lot of time in this area because her boys played  ice hockey for many years.  It was nice to have her know her way around and show us some of her favorite places.  I have seen some beautiful places in my life but I would hard pressed to find anything more impressive than this!

It was fun to see this Art Class going on. We stopped and talked to the people.  Of course you know who became fast friends with the Artist himself!

Notice who is not in the picture.  This was at Mistaya Canyon. Stacy, Grant and Steve all went right up to the edge and laid down to look over.  It almost gave me heart failure just watching them.

This is Stacy and me in Canmore following a nice dinner on the patio when it poured down rain! They did move us inside so all was well but it was an adventure! 

Stacy has been a dear friend for almost 10 years.  It was so fun to have her here. Not only was she was SO much help to me but we all loved having her in our home!
