Count Down to Carly and Joel's Wedding

We are on the final countdown to Carly and Joel's wedding. Only 18 days left! We are thrilled with Carly's choice and look forward to having Joel become a part of our family. We have been blessed to have Kaylee Join our family and now Joel is a huge bonus. Tyler and Carly have chosen wisely....let's just hope the rest can be as picky! Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Carly and Joel. The fun tidbit is that our photographer is a girl that I taught when she was in YW in our Desoto ward. She is now grown with a family of her own but it has sure been fun to reconnect with her. She is a darling girl and has turned out well....she must have had a really good teacher as a young woman. :)

It is surreal to me that Carly is old enough to marry. I love/hate my kids getting older. I love them making lives for themselves and seeing them succeed....but I hate them leaving home. I guess they know where to find me.....or at least I KNOW where to find them!

Camille is my picture happy girl! She loves to play and have fun with the camera. I am so glad she does because she gets some fun shots.... Here are a few of them. She has even taught Grant to point and shoot!

They had a fun baby shower for Camille's piano teacher. it was all New Moon themed because Beth Ann is a Twilight FREAK! Well, I think everyone there was but ME! We all then went to the midnight showing of New Moon. Yes...even me. Honestly.....It was fun to go along and see how thrilled my daughter was to hang out with the Mom's and see a silly movie. I for the life of me don't get why everyone is so gaga over this series....it makes no sense to me. Am I tooooo old or just to realistic to get it?? Oh.... I know, I already graduated from high School! :) I am sure I will make enemies with that comment!

Oh sure we had the Forth of July in November here in Texas....I was a bit nervous that the neighbors would smell the fireworks and call the police. That would be an expensive fireworks show! :) Grant was thrilled to actually get to play with sparklers. Things we took for granted as a kid.

Thanksgiving Day 2009

We had a great and relaxing Thanksgiving day. We were lucky enough to be able to go to a fabulous lake house in Grandbury, Texas with some friends.... The Hughes , Bezzant's and the Wahlin's. We had such a wonderful time just relaxing and talking. It was great food and plenty of it!! The setting was out of this world. If I can figure out how to get a picture of the lake house you will know what I mean! It out does most of our REAL homes by 500%! It was nestled right on the lake and what a beautiful day! Here Steve and Bob shoot the breeze. Here is Grant and Jake being boys Grant was in heaven playing ball all day. This is my favorite picture of the guys holding on to Rick Wahlin's legs so he doesn't fall in the lake as he tries to get the ball out of the water. I don't think anyone of those guys could hold on to RICK if his was going in! :)

The adults went for a nice walk after dinner and then when it was nice and late we headed home. We all need a day like that to take time and reflect on just how really blessed we are. I have a wonderful family and friends. I couldn't be any happier with my life than I am here in Keller, Texas.

Hey Tyler and Blake Check This Out!!

Grant has a fascination with football and football teams. He is always wanting to know the ranking of teams and who is best. He then figures out who is the best team and who he will play for when his gets big! His favorite teams this week are TCU and Florida. I told him his brothers would not stand for it and will tackle him down. Our neighbor who works for TCU caught wind of Grant's loyalties and brought him this gift! Grant could not wait to get it on! I am afraid that we have a true rebel in the house.

How does this happen when we are all BYU fans through and through!! ;)

Ward Trunk Or Treat Oct. 30,2009

We had our annul Ward Trunk or Treat on Friday night. It is always so much fun to see all of the darling kids and of course the adults that really catch the spirit of it all. Halloween would not be the same with out the Malmberg's always dressing up. Rick and Barbie make the best Frankenstein and bride ever! Rick, Raleen and my Steve at the party. Steve was a tourist. The problem is that he always takes off half of his costume so it looks like he just doesn't know how to dress! HA

This was so darling. Michelle Kohner taught some of the ward members to dance (ahead of time) "thriller" They just all converged to the center of the gym and started dancing. It was such a fun surprise! You can see Camille with the conductor hat on.

One of the funnest things of the night was to see one of Steve's counselors (Tom Honeycutt)
dance. He and his wife Toni did a GREAT job. They are in their 60's. Tom was a gymnast in his younger days and you could sure tell. He knew how to dance!

Carly and Grant dressed up to go trick or treating the next night for Halloween. We met up with Grant's friend Nathan King and went door to door. Grant always loves that night! We still have a huge bowl full of candy....Of course all of the good chocolate is gone. It is time to throw the rest away.

It was a very busy but a super fun weekend! I am so glad we have Grant so that we can be young again.

Carly's Beautiful Bridal Shower!

My sweet friends Dina and Christine offered to give Carly a Bridal Shower this past week while she was in town preparing for last minute wedding plans.... As you can see by the pictures it was a beautiful event! The table was stunning. Yummy homemade soups and a variety of homemade and Harvest Grains bread. The presentation was to die for. The picture does not do it justice!

It was a fabulous turn out and just so much FUN!! Thanks to all those who came to celebrate with us. Carly was so overwhelmed and thankful to all of those who came to support. She said WOW! That was amazing. It love it!!

This was so fun. Christine had Blake ask Joel some questions and then she played it at the shower. They would pause the video and ask Carly the same questions before they played Joel's answers. I must say that they did pretty good. Blake did a great job as MC. FUN!!

Carly was "showered" with SO MANY wonderful gifts to start her new life with Joel. She loved this sign that read.."And they lived happily ever after" And I know they will.

Carly is my "Old Fashioned" girl. She loves retro anything. She got some darling aprons that she was so excited about. It was such a warm and wonderful evening. I came home so grateful for all of the wonderful friends we have. Thank you!
