Valentine's Veenker Style
My Aunt Carlene & Uncle Larry live just up the road in Lindon and have been so great about inviting us college kids over to their family dinner every month. We really enjoy the great company and have started to feel like part of the Veenker Clan! Every year around Valentine's Day they host an "adults" only special family dinner. It is always quite an amazing dinner with steak & shrimp, chocolate dipped strawberries, Lori's AMAZING strawberry pie, awesome drinks - you get the picture. They really just go all-out for these dinners and we sure appreciate being invited!
This year was a little extra special as my cousin Scott had just returned from his mission to Argentina. To my surprise & delight he brought home some authentic Argentinian mate! For those of you who don't know, mate is one of my favorite things and Scott asked me to give some instruction on proper mate preparation. Not all of us partook, but it was quite delicious and a very fun experience. In fact, our dinner party was so much fun that we lost track of time and were there until late at night! Thanks a ton Aunt Carlene & Uncle Larry!
